"Woodstock is back once again celebrating 30 years after the first legendary hippie-rock fest back in 1969. This years three-day festival kicks off July 23rd with quite a few popular bands already on the bill such as Marilyn Manson, Alanis Morrisette, the Offspring, Live, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Metallica."

This year its on an old army base in NYstate, i think the same one where phish had that concert a few months ago. Any way i am going for sure and i think the cult needs to have a presence there. and besides it'll be the coolest thing you ever do so you better go. I can drive a few people so there are no excuses for not going.

The New York Times and Los Angeles Times reported April 1 that Woodstock '99 -- to be held July 23-25 in Rome, New York -- would feature acts including Aerosmith, Sheryl Crow, Korn, Metallica, Alanis Morissette, Limp Bizkit. and others. Both newspapers cited industry sources as leaking the partial roster of the 30th Woodstock anniversary fest and noted promoter John Scher would not confirm the lineup prior to the April 8 official announcement.

The New York Times, which called the lineup "An eclectic bill with potentially wide appeal," quoted sources as saying the bill will also include Hole, Counting Crows, Willie Nelson, Bush and Ice Cube. The Los Angeles Times didn't mention those acts,
but led with the item that "Guns N' Roses - with lead singer Axl Rose and a new lineup - is close to signing as one of the headliners." The Los Angeles Times also said Sugar Ray was on the bill and said there would be a "strong presence of young, rising acts." They quoted Scher as saying "This is a rite of passage for the core audience of 17-24 year olds. We're not trying to relive memories of '69 or even '94."

The New York Times quoted Pollstar editor-in-chief gary Bongiovanni as saying "It's a tremendous lineup of artists?. It's going to be quite the musical event of the summer." The paper also said the show would feature a rave at night with dance acts like the
Chemical Brothers.

Well damn.

Yeah, we should definitely go - I'm assuming tickets will be like the Tibetan Freedom concert: get tix for all days or single days? We should start looking into places to stay in the area, maybe camping...

I think cult members that attend should hand out fliers like christians do to try to get people to join the cult. =)

When are all of you going to get in line? And where are you going? I plan on going to an island ticketmaster, but I am not sure what time I am gonna be there.
