Cary, I basicaly stopped listening to limp bizkit because I got tired of their music, not because they were on MTV or made money. I'm not totally against bands making money, I just want a band out there who plays music because they love to play music, not because they wanna make money and be popular. If thats too much to ask, well call me idealistic , I dunno. I'd say it must be a pretty shallow world if everyone in a band today is doing it for the money and popularity. To answer your question on how to find out about good bands that aren't played on MTV, try finding a zine about the scene that you're into. If you like industrial, I'm sure there's some magazine out there that covers really good industrial bands. Most of the smaller zines don't have ties to larger corporations, so they are free to cover what they wish, no matter how unheard of the band is. I enjoy punk rock and hardcore, so I read punk planet. They do record reviews and bios on bands that are on smaller indie labels. It may be more work to find out about bands that aren't signed to major labels, but you'll find its worth the effort.No replies.
