Savatage and Nevermore

On the lighter and more fun side of life, there is an excellent show coming to Jaxx. Savatage and Nevermore are playing on Friday 21 Septemebr. If you rust in the rain like I do, this show should do you good. Might be 3 or 4 people in the CULT that listen to metal. Maybe we could carpool.

For more metal mayhem, Judas Priest, Anthrax, and Iced Earth(yes!) are coming to Nation on October 22nd, I believe. I'll also be in attendance there.

Surprise: Here's another metal fan. I remember hearing Nevermore back in 96 or 97. I don't like Iced Earth, but Blind Guardian is one of my all time favorites--right up there with Carcass, Opeth, Morbid Angel, and Dissection. Occasionally, I'll dust off something ridiculously brutal like Nile, but I have to be in the right mood. (And I hate to admit that I even secretly like Hammerfall, as corny and weak as they are. Playing from my car speakers, they lift my spirits until I *have* to sing along as I drive somewhere)

Good to see you finally used the forum, Calliana. Have you picked up the new Nile album? Makes the first one sound like fucking Romper Room. Ovarkill and Testament both have relatively new albums out, also. Both very good.

Well, the concert is over. It was the best show I've ever seen. Savatage is just fucking amazing live. Even though none of you lowbrows would appreciate a talented band like Savatage or Nevermore. Bah

i think mysql is speedy enough to make it worth the trade off. data replication isn't cool. there's better ways to make pages load faster..
I'm not saying there's an absolute truth here though, its personal preference.

doing >1 queries per page unless absofuckinglutely necessary isn't cool
when netcult was done, mysql didn't do joins..
