Let's forget all that for a minute and reflect on last night's Slayer show at the 9:30 club.
Shame on all you who skipped out on it. As usual, Slayer proved that they can make any band look stupid. Tom and I had to suffer through Chimaira (cheap Fear Factory ripoff) and American Head Charge (fate worse than death...) before the reign began. Slayer had a 90 minute set. The sound was perfect. Kerry and Jeff each had a wall of 9 Marshall cabinets. Which isn't unusual for Slayer, but is odd to see in a small joint like the 9:30. The band was tighter than a [vulgarity] in a [inappropriate situation]. If you missed this show, shame, shame.
In the same non-punk related vein, Overkill and Nevermore are playing Jaxx in VA on November 24th. Another real show for those of you who keep count.
You may continue with your punk-o-rama.

Hmmmmm perhaps it would have been good to post in the other thread for this as well. But I'm seeing Slayer here Thursday, and I don't know how you didn't enjoy Chimaira. I've seen em several times now in little clubs, and they rock out. How are they a fear factory rip off???? I just don't hear it. Maybe they sound magically different on this tour. I guess I'll find out though.
