MCPS CGI

(fun stuff)

Me, Willie and Konrad went to a random middle school in the middle of rockville where MCPS made a sad attempt to teach CGI. After being forced to use..."macs"(ugh), the whole day was spent trying to explain to a dense group of teachers the whole concept of generating HTML. Me, having a little previous knowedge of CGI wasted a whole day(about 8 hours) learning how to make a form (easy stuff) Anything useful or somewhat cool, they "didn't want to get into yet". We also had a fun time searching through the barren wastland known as Rockville for a fastfood place. This took about 45min... - #18 Jim

Overall, I thought the fieldtrip was "useful" since we learned some gay NT syntax, unlike the kickass Linux syntax used for THE CULT. While the class was learning the basics of Perl, Krad began to write some script for the DHS Observer, making it possible for us to sit and do nothing in 7th period from now on. I'm looking forward to that. Maybe we'll even start NetGame. (yeah, right). About getting lunch, I think next time I'll take a map instead of taking a survey at each stoplight...
