Y2K Car Accessories

Posted by #16 Kenneth Gary at 04-15-1999 6:44 PM

I was just perusing through the May issue of Motor Trend when I stumbled upon an article dealing with "New-Era Fashion" in the form of car accessories. This article listed three goodies, but they were in order of GWAR-Gay, so I'm gonna flip the order a bit so these things have a better impact....believe me...you WANT to read on. The first item is a Road Rage sensing device which senses the level of hostility that you are feeling and triggers a measured release of any particular aromatherapy scents. "It'll turn off rage and turn on whatever." The next item is Photo Radar. This little toy is especially neat if you want to sit in your car and keep tabs on everything that you might possibly want to avoid, destroy, steal, etc. There is also a counter for this lovely gadget that will spoil all of the film, spoiling the radar image :-( All items mentioned so far are things that will show up in the U.S. within the next few years (keep an eye on your Keystone Catalog). The final goody to be reported is one that is illegal in the U.S. Very VERY illegal. This would be the car mounted flame thrower. There are four gas jets beneath the doors on both sides. With the push of a button you can send a wall of flame that surrounds the car and any other living thing that happens to be near it (car jackers, vandals, poodles, etc.). All this is done without even singing the paint on your car. This device has only been marketed in South Africa because it's a no-holds-barred death match down there everyday, a place where you have to be proficient at sweeping your car for bombs before you can get a Driver's License. There are currently 25 vehicles equipped with the "The Blaster", so remember, down there the cars have the right of way. That's all for car accessories for now. Later I'll mention the accessory designed for your average arab or balkan nation...the car mounted SAM.
