May-Day Festival

Well first off let me say how F*cking cool SEV was last night. Im still hurting. Im sure when i say this i speak for all of the people who were there (Including me, Jerry, Alex, Maggie, Pat, b0b, Ethan and Pam). SEV's show last night was by far one of the best i have seen yet.
It all kinda went like this, about 11:15 am we all packed in Jerrys car (well me Alex Pat and Maggie anyway) and headed off for the metro. We rode the metro down to the Union Station exit, which is where Max told Jerry to get off at. Well we got off and saw nothing, Jerry assured us the concert was where Constitution met C street. Well after about 3 hours of walking we realized that Constitution and C street run parallel to each other. But we kept walking hoping we'd find it somewhere on C street, even though we were in the middle of residential upper class ghetto.
We asked everyone and anyone for directions, needles to say no one had even heard of a "may-day festival." This sucked. Eventually we asked some gay dude where "My Brothers Place" was. My Brothers Place was the name of the store sponsoring the concert. The fag told us to look on Pennsylvania ave. So we did, nothing. Oh well except we had now wandered into SE DC. (not a good idea) Before getting to Pennsylvania ave we stopped in "ye old cornerside bodega" to pick up some pepsi and sun chips, we figured we were gonna die out there so we wanted a decent last meal. Well we get to Pennsylvania ave and the only thing we saw was a bunch of firetrucks and such crowded around an empty chinese restuarant. So we walked some more.
We ended up on the mall near the capitol and we hear music. Walking to the sound we found that it was only some crappy DJ. So we kept on walking. We eventually wandered on to a payphone and decided that maybe WHFS could help us find this concert. Well maybe they could have, if the assholes answered the damn phone! Oh well, we called Kait and she got on line and found the location for us. Thank god. So we walked to the street it was on and oh what do you know, bam, pouring rain from hell. By now we didnt care anyway. We quickly entered and found Max to yell at him for the shitty directions.
Anyway, we got there and thats all that mattered, and as it turns out we had to wait a good 4 hours till SEV was actually gonna play. It was fun though, my brother (Pat) seemed really excited that he got to meet the members of SEV, and get a guitar pic from Max at the end of the show. While waiting for SEV to take the stage, some random drunk kept asking us who we were waiting for, we told him SEV, and he wanted to know if they were gonna "kick ass." Of course we said yes (cause when ever does SEV not kick ass?) So the drunk started talking to Max and asking him too. Eventually SEV took the stage and in the middle of one of their songs Max stopped to find the drunk guy, who was named John, and ask him what he thought. "You guys kick ass" im pretty sure is what he said.
Also durin the cover of "Ali baba and the 40 theives" Jerry got the mic and got to sing. That was cool.
Towards the end of their set they asked the audience what we wanted to hear and i yelled 24/7, one of my fave songs. So they played it, that was cool too. What was not cool was when Etehn lost his cell phone to the mosh pit. Also, Maggie somehow managed to get her bra off, in a crowd packed so tight i had trouble breathing, and throw it on stage. Danny had his fun with it then threw it back to the audience. SEV ended their show with "Chicken hunting" and we all went around back to say "Hey you guys kick ass" and collect out pics in some cases. Maggie had somehow managed to get her bra back, dont ask me how, and got the band to sign it. Then we ventured off back to the metro, turns out the stop we got off at was right next to the damn show, we just walked down the wrong street. Oh well. « replies »
Sounds like you guys had more fun...

Meanwhile, back in Damascus, I was having my Eagle Ceremony (Jerry, SHUT UP.) Anyways, it was pretty cool cause there was like 100 people there, a few of which are in THE CULT, but there certainly wasn't any SEV at the thing. About Maggie, I'm not surprised at all - she's got skillz or something with her bra.
Cary: Ben yelled at me a while ago for this and I actually like paragraphs on CULTnewz now. Either put extra spaces in or use the <P>.
