Personally, I think that if this little escapade taught the school anything it should have showed them that you actually know what your doing with computers, and rather then be suspended of all computer activities, you should be commended on your excellent knowledge of the subject. But as was stated earlier, if you go outseide the curriculum, teachers freak and dont know what to do.

Schools dont teach you cool shit for a good reason: they can't. Public schools dont have the funds to hire people who actually have the skills and training to teach anything recent. Anyone who knows HTML, for example, isnt going to go teach at a high school, they get a real job. I know this isnt exaclty what you were getting at: yeah, they should let you learn shit on your own, but installing netdino or whatever isnt exactly learning, so I think that they have a good reason to suspend your account, but this isnt the most thought out course of action. I agree with Cary: this should have shown them that you're interested in computers and have a great potential, so your talent should be applauded and maybe guided but certainly not heldback.
