Captain Electricity Upholding His Name

Posted by #43 Will Miller at 10-08-1999 1:32 PM

Recently, k-rad (#9), known only to some as "Captain Electricity", has been upholding his title. Evidently his Soundblaster Live connected to a bass amp has something in it that isn't grounded. He quickly discovered that when you hold the two cords together to plug them into a pedal, you get zapped.

k-rad's face lit up like Christmas morning, and he continued to zap himself, again and again. When he tryed to zap Reverend Benjamin (#3) and Pat (#1000), Ben said, "dude."

For those of you know don't know, the title was originated from Mrs. (ugh, it still pains me that something would marry her) Lefebvre's bio class. After completing a lab, k-rad picked up a pair of tweezers, a zip-lock bag and seemingly without ANY consideration of what would happen, held the tweezers by the bag and stuck the two prongs into an electrical socket. There was lots of sparks/popping/smoke/etc, yet Lefebvre never noticed, nor did she notice the charred ends of tweezers.

Enough flashbacks for now. Hopefully some funny stuff will happen at dinner tonight. Got some funny/important shit that you want posted? Submit.

woa k'rad smart move nothing liky double plug extension cord joke--- build yourself an extension cord with 2 plug ends then plug one end in and ask the person to hand you the unplugged end....99% of the time people grab the prongs...the live side with elecricity flowing frelly and they get juiced up pretty well...i did it to like 15 people one year during stage set-up for a play we had...i got bored i had a pocket knife and 2 extension chords..and a sodering iron it was funny as shit but the teachers didnt like my reckless abandon for school property oh well 5 days of 2 hour after school detentions no biggie

i think it has something to do with a ground loop and the polarity of the amp

if for some strange reason you don't want to get shocked anymore see if your amp has a polarity switch or, if possible, flip the AMPs plug around and that should solve the problem. otherwise, continue to enjoy exceeding your recomended daily allowance of voltage.
