Kickass Weekend

Alright basically this is a reminder to those who participated in musical events this past weekend that they had a great time. To everyone else, you missed out.Sev played a free show at the Garage in DC on Saturday night - it was packed. They put on a great show. I know there was quite a large CULT representation there, UMCP peepz, Damascus peepz and Olney peepz. Dog Fashion Disco and Margret Heater were also there to support Sev. Hopefully they go the outcome they wanted - getting signed to a major record label. Last night's SnoCore 2000 show at the 9:30 Club was even more badass. Puya was better than I thought they would be, definitely worth a listen. Mr. Bungle played the second set. None of us (or them) are really sure how they got on the tour since they're so different, but they were the main reason for at least Nick and Stefan's attendance. The only thing that sucked was the length of their set - it was shorter than even Puya's. Incubus switched off between their new and old album every other song. They didn't play A Certain Shade of Green, but oh well. System of a Down was incredible. I'd never seen them before, having attended my graduation rather than going to Ozzfest... They were at their finest during Sugar, clearly demonstrating the advantages of wireless connections for the guitar and bass by jumping and spinning all over the stage. We stuck around after for a while and managed to meet some band members from Mr. Bungle and Incubus, as well as Serj from SOAD. With the exception of Mike from Bungle, everyone was friendly... he was just annoyed that Stefan and Nick recognized him and alerted the rest of the crowd. Anyways, it kicked ass. In the words of your creator, "if you weren't there, you suck." « replies »

Well I second that Will; it was a kickass weekend. I may have missed Sev because I was getting all up into the innards of my van, but that's another story. I will be there the next time Sev decides to perform for us motherfuckers. Sno-Core was the fucking shat! Of course I went just to see Mr. Bungle but seeing Puya and System of A Down was cool also. But yeah the crowd was definitely there just to see Incubus. Personally I thought Incubus didn't play a good set. Puya turned out to be the unexpected, they were excellent. Need those MP3'z (if anyone has some pass them my way). System was phenomenal! They really fucking rocked "Sugar" and "Peephole". The coolest part of the night was talking to Mike P. from Mr. Bungle (my GOD)! He wasn't in the best of spirits that night because he was probably thinking to himself "how did I get on this tour?". When Nick and I were talking to the other members of the band they kept on telling us where the Incubus 'bus' was. I think they were dumbfounded to actually have people recognize who they were. Anyway it was overall a most excellent show and for all those who missed it.....well.....
